Page 1 is a true entertainer, who calls his style of music “Reality Rap”. Born Fred Kendricks in Detroit, Michigan, Page 1 he began writing lyrics and songs at the age of twelve. His major musical influence at that age was hip-hop artist like Run DMC, LL Cool J, ICE T, AfricaBambata, KRS-1, Esham and N.W.A. With musical influences in his family. Many thought Page 1 would become the next R&B sensation. Wrongly enough he focused his passion on hip hop and set the stage for the creation of Hittin Lick Records.

In 1991, after years of lyrical street battles (also known as free styling) Page 1 met Chris Cobb. Chris introduced Page 1 Jeff and Mark of the Bass Brothers Studio owners of WEA ENT. at that time Page 1 recorded his first song titled “Ghetto Tour Guide." Unfortunately, for Page 1 he caught his first criminal charge. This turn of events for Page1 became a major disappointment to the young artist. He realized that the only way to ensure his success was to be the man behind the mask.

1998 Page 1 selected several lyrical artists from Detroit to form Detromental. With his focus on producing hit songs Page 1 hired local musicians to bring the real Motown sound to his groups tracks. The group produced their first CD "Ghetto 4 Life" in 2000.

Out of the trunk of their cars Detromental sold 10,000 units. With this success Page 1 began to seek out R&B singers. These searches lead him to a childhood friend Tommie Booker.

In 2001, after months of preparation Hittin Lick released their first R&B singer. With rave reviews at all his performances Tommie was indeed a hit. Detromental returned to the studio to record a remake of Ghetto 4 Life with Tommie. The maxi single featuring Tommie was then sold in several countries to include Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany. Shortly after the release of "D-Style" Tommie became ill and was diagnosed with leukemia. With thoughts of remission on everyone’s mind, Page 1 decided to sign a record deal with a label in Hollywood California. In California the group Detromental recorded several tracks with the label. Page 1 received a call from operatives of the label in Detroit. Tommie was worse than imagined. Getting on a plane Page 1 and Detromental returned home to say good-bye to a musician and good friend. Shortly after returning to Detroit Page 1 was notified that the 1 of the tracks recorded in Hollywood had been selected for use on MTV's Spike TV. The track was featured on the very first episode gaining the group Detromental an accomplishment that only could have been dreamed of for so many years. Since then Detromental has performed at local venues in Detroit perfecting their skills for the next level of achievement.

Page 1 has now been in the music business for 15 years. He's opened up for several artist includung C-Murder of No Limit. In 2003 he was featured in the movie “8 Mile”. In 2007, Page 1 went completely solo recording his first LP, "True Hood Stories". The album contains 17 reality tracks with Killa Smuv Productions creating most of the music that was then completed with lyrics from the Hittin Lick family, Page 1 , Mook Dogg, Naylz, K Dash, Magnum, Antoinette CoHill, and others. The track Fallen featuring Page 1 was selected by Universal Music Group to be featured on a compilation dedicated to the fallen rapper Tupac in 2007.
